LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday announced setting up of a hostel for poets, writers and intellectuals in the City.
He made this announcement during a meeting with visiting writers, intellectuals and poets from different provinces at Model Town on Sunday. The chief minister said that writers and poets coming from other provinces would be able to stay at the hostel and this would help in promotion of dialogue between the intellectuals of different provinces and bring them closer.
He said that all necessary facilities would be provided to the intellectuals, writers and poets at the hostel. The guests thanked the Chief Minister for setting up of a hostel for them in Lahore and observed that he was the only leader who had encouraged them.
Intellectual Ghazi Salahuddin said that the Punjab chief minister had a realistic thinking. Senior anchor and columnist Salim Safi said that the role of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif was vital to the elimination of extremism. Columnist Raees Fatima, while paying glowing tributes to the Punjab chief minister, said that Sindh also needed a Shahbaz Sharif.
Attaul Haq Qasmi said that the Punjab chief minister was imbued with the spirit of public service and had revolutionary thinking. Other intellectuals, writers and poets also paid tributes to the Shahbaz Sharif on his revolutionary reforms in health and education sectors.
