Husn-e-Qirat & Speeches Competetion on Allama Iqbal’s “Khudi” concept.

Yet another milestone in the short history of HalaPakistan.Com, a competition among students of Pakistani schools in Kuwait for “Hussn-e-Qirat” and speech on the subject of “Iqbal’s Philosophy of Khudi”. The graceful event was held on Thursday May 24th 2012 at the spacious auditorium of Kuwait Medical Association under the patronage of His Excellency the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the State of Kuwait Mr. Iftikhar Aziz, who was represented at the event by the Deputy Head of the Mission Mr. Hassan Wazir.

Event started with recitation of Holy Qura’an followed by Naat-e –sherif. Mr. Hassan Raza (Member Executive Committee HalaPakistan) presented the opening comments about the event and the activities of THP, he thanked all the distinguished guests, generous sponsors and the respected audiences for their keen interest in the activities of HP and supporting the event. After Mr. Raza’s short speech the event commenced with the speech competition. The speech competition was judged by respectable Mrs. Ghazalah Bano (Principal Oxford School) and a well renowned educationist and inetellectual and Mr. Fayyaz Wardag a famous poet and intelectual.

11 students from various Pakistani schools participated in this competition. All the participants came well prepared and gave tough time to each other with their command on speech, selection of speech material, their confidence and speech delivery. Audiences were all appraising the talent of these young speakers and thoroughly enjoyed the competition. Even the respected judges were finding it hard to mark the performances of the competitors. The winners were decided with a very close margin with difference of 1 mark. Syed Hassan Faraz from ISCP was the winner of speech competition followed by Maryam Wahab and Seemab Tahir securing 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

At the end of speech competition Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Ijaz (Member Executive Committee HalaPakistan) addressed the audiences and thanked them for their presence at the event. He also praised and thanked the support of Pakistan Embassy, especially Mr. Ambassador and Deputy Head of Commission, the esteemed sponsors Mada Communications which was represented by their Manager Retail Sales Mr. Gohar Ayoub, Ibrahim Pinto Umrah Services , Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Shabbir of AlHafiz Photocopy, the prominent Pakistani Businessman and Head of Pakistan Business Council in Kuwait Mr. Arif Butt, and all the distinguished VIP guests. He also thanked different media persons including Mr. Tariq Javed of VOOC, Mr. Abdul Shaoor of Nawa e Waqt & Mr. Abid Niaz of Karobari Loge for their continued efforts to promote such events organized for Pakistani community in Kuwait.

Following the address of Mr. Ijaz Ahmed Ijaz , the event entered to the second phase of Husn-e-Qirat competition. 15 participants took part in this segment and they were from various Pakistani Schools and Madrrasa’s operating in the State of Kuwait. The competition was tough for this segment too, and the participants gave their best to recite the Holy Qura’an. This event was judged by Mr. Hafiz Muhammad Ishaq a renowned scholar of Islam & Hadith , Mr. Faiz Ur Rahman an outstanding Qari and Mr. Qari Mukhtar a well know Qari as well.

Muqabla Husn-e-Qirat was won by Hasnain Ijaz of ISP followed by Soban Ashraf and Muhammad Mughees of Markaz Masjid Othman.

Mrs. Ghazal Bano announced the results of the speech competition while Hafiz Mohammed Ishaq had the honor to announce the winners of Husn-e-Qirat competition. Both were among the panel of judges. They also enlightened the audiences with their thoughts and gave encouraging comments on the efforts of THP.

At the end of the event Mr. Gohar Ayoub from Mada Telecommunication and Mr. Arif Butt of Pakistan Business Council expressed their views about the event and praised the efforts for THP. Both the distinguished guests reaffirmed their support to the cause of HP and assured for further assistance in organizing such graceful events. Both Mr. Butt and Mr. Ayoub announced further prizes for the competition winners and their teachers.

Before the prize distribution ceremony a lucky draw was held on which 4 Omrah packages and 4 wireless internet connections were awarded to the lucky winners. And an oldest lucky person present in the hall who has not went for Umrah in his life.

The event was concluded by the prize distribution which was conducted by the esteemed chief guest the Deputy Head of Mission at Pakistan Embassy Mr. hassan Wazir and other distinguished VIP guests.

The event was hosted and conducted by Mr. Suhail Yousaf in coordination of Ms. Madeeha Waleed and both had done a splendid job.

The students who took part in both the segments represented all the major Pakistani schools and Madrassa’s in the country and showed great enthusiasm for the event.
